Stadium
The best way to think of this game is
to take the original Red/Blue games and remove everything but
the trainer battles. Another words, this game is simply battles
between Pokémon trainers. You can play against the computer
or against a friend. Even better, you can use your Pokémon
team from you Gameboy game! In fact, the game even includes
a way of playing your Pokémon games in color on the TV
screen! Basically, its the Super Gameboy for the older
Super Nintendo system included with the game. For variety,
it also includes a few mini-games. Its hard to tell what these
games are about, but one seems to be a race contest between Ratattas
and another looks like an electricity contest between electric
Pokémon such as Pikachu and Voltorb. The
game includes full 3D models of all 150 Pokémon, multiple
fighting arenas, voice narration and 3D animations for all of
the Pokémon moves. It also includes some special modes
of play, such as a battle where you have at least two Pokémon
out at the same time! I've seen some video clips from this game,
and they look incredible. This is one game to watch for! It should
be out around March '00.
Special Note:
This should not be confused with the first Japanese Pokémon
Stadium, which only had 30 Pokémon. The American Pokémon
Stadium is actually the translated version of the Japanese Pokémon
Stadium II.
